Breyer Legend Horse

When your duties include patrolling over 1,200 acres of the horse capital of the world, of course you do it from horseback! The Kentucky Horse Park’s Mounted Police team does everything from security checks and greeting the public, to writing citations and directing traffic – all from the saddle.

Meet Hytyme Legend, the newest and youngest equine officer at the Kentucky Horse Park, owned by Jim Elliott and partnered with Officer Rakow since 2021. Mounted Unit Commander Captain Rakes describes Legend, a Drum Horse with Clydesdale, Shire, and Vanner lineage, as "calm, level-headed, and kind," making him a perfect police horse.
